  • Where can I find the rates?
    Go to our live availability calendar and click on an arrival date (allowed arrival dates are denoted by a blue and/or yellow line), enter the number of guests and the rate of the stay will be calculated. You can then follow the instructions to make a booking. A compulsory £150 refundable damages deposit will also be shown and added to the cost of your booking.
  • How much deposit will I need to pay?
    25% or the full amount if booking within 6 weeks of arrival.
  • When will I need to pay the balance?
    The balance is due 6 weeks prior to arrival.
  • Can I make a booking and pay over the phone?
    Bookings can only be made online using our secure booking system, and confirmations are emailed automatically. Unfortunately we do not have the facility to take card payments over the phone.
  • What is the minimum stay and changeover days?
    Our changeover day is FRIDAY. We may be able to offer shorter stays where there is late availability and during low season, please contact us with your desired dates and we will get back to you with a quote.
  • Is there wifi?
    WIFI is available at no extra charge but we will not be liable for slow connections or for any interruptions to or the failure of this service. The BT infrastructure in the area is outdated & inadequate. An intermittent connection can often be experienced, especially when demand is high. The connection should be sufficient for the downloading and sending of emails but it is not sufficient for streaming movies, etc. Please be aware that if a good and stable internet connection is imperative during your stay (i.e. for work purposes) you may wish to purchase a data package with your mobile provider. EE offers a great 4G signal here but O2 mobile network is very poor here.
  • Do you offer low occupancy discounts?
    Yes, if there are just two of you we can offer some of our larger Cottages at 5-10% discount for use as a one bedroom unit (only the Master bedroom will be made up). Where applicable discounts will be calculated automatically when entering the number of people (low occupancy discounts are not applicable during peak dates). If there are two people requiring a bedroom each the discount will not apply (please select 3 people when booking and leave the third name blank).
  • Can I make a provisional booking?
    Unfortunately as our calendar is live we cannot hold any bookings without a deposit. Therefore all bookings are made on a first come first served basis. If any dates are highlighted blue (provisional) on our booking calendar these are confirmed bookings awaiting payment clearance/processing.
  • Do prices include VAT?
    Vat is included in the rates shown.
  • What are the terms and conditions?
    Terms and Conditions can be found on this page, they will also be displayed during the booking process, you will be asked to read and agree to them before finalising your booking.
  • Can we bring our dog(s)?
    We regret that we do not accept dogs over the Summer Holidays but the rest of the year we welcome dogs in all our cottages except Constantine (which is reserved for guests with pet allergies). Please visit our dog friendly page for full details and rates. No Puppies under 12 months. Max 2 dogs.
  • Are there any card surcharges?
    There no surcharges on debit or credit cards.
  • Is there a mobile signal at Merlin Farm?
    Due to our rural location mobile signal can be patchy. EE/T-Mobile offers the best reception inside the cottages.
  • What do I need to bring?
    Your accommodation is let to you on a self catering basis but to help you plan what you need to bring we have a checklist here:
  • Are bedding and towels provided?
    Bed Linen and towels are provided: 1 bath sheet and 1 hand towel per guest, as well as a bath mat per bathroom. If you would like to order further bed linen and towels (at cost) please contact us prior to arrival so we can arrange additional sets from our linen supplier. Please bring your own beach towels and cot bedding (a bottom sheet is provided).
  • Can I arrange a grocery delivery?
    Yes, there are several Supermarkets that deliver to Merlin Farm, and a Cornish Food Box Delivery service, for more details visit our Food for your holiday page
  • Do you provide any baby gear?
    Yes, the baby gear provided will be detailed on each of the cottage pages.
  • What time can I check in / out?
    Check in: 4PM Check out: 10AM
  • Is there a manned reception?
    No. Details of arrival to your self catering accommodation will be included in your booking confirmation. In case of emergency our contact details are in the guest information folder in each cottage, where you will also find information relating to everything in the cottage and the local area, helping you get the best out of your stay.
  • Do you supply barbecues?
    Due to health and safety issues we regret that we no longer supply gas barbecues for our guests. You may bring your own at your own risk, but please do not place disposable barbecues on top of patio furniture/decking or position near fences/wooden structures or where children play. Barbecues must not be left unattended and must be disposed of appropriately.
  • What if I need to cancel?
    A cancellation must be given in writing and will result in the loss of the deposit. We will make every attempt to re let the accommodation but if the date is not re-booked, liability for the cost of the holiday will be yours. We advise that you take out some form of holiday Insurance, as you would if you were travelling abroad to cover your costs in the event of an unforseen cancellation.
